Needlepoint 101 In this 2-part class, learn the basketweave stitch along with 10 novelty stitches using 10 different threads. The canvas is a custom painted sampler canvas personalized with the initial of your choice. Select from 6 different colorways. This is a fun and instructional piece which can be finished into a pillow, appliquéd on a Tote bag, made into a sign or Class Dates 2025:

Quick Start with Stephanie Chase This class is for the beginner and those getting reacquainted to needlepoint. In this beginner class you can pick from a key fob or an eye glass case for your class piece. Stefanie will teach you the basics of putting your canvas on stretcher bars, opening a skein of thread, threading a needle, how to start and stop a thread and how to stitch basic basketweave and continental. She will also instruct on what to do when it is time to change colors, how far can you carry your thread, and answer any other questions you may have. Class Dates 2025:

Cookie Finishing Learn how to finish your own ornament at The Nimble Needle. Bring your completed canvas (round, oval, square or rectangle ornaments ONLY. If you bring a different shape, you will be given a blank round canvas to finish to learn the technique. Other shapes are more advanced finishing than this class covers) and suitable backing fabric (Silk or cotton; Not upholstery weight) to class. We will walk you through the step-by-step finishing process to create your very own completed ornament. Hand Sewing experience recommended. Class Dates 2025:

Mary Legallet Embellishment Class Mary Legallet, the author of the 4 volumes of Whimsical Stitches books will be teaching a canvas embellishment class. During the class Mary will continuously work her way around to all students, recommending stitches and threads for the canvas of your choice. You can attend 1, 2, or 3 days depending on the complexity of your canvas. Class Dates 2025:

Bargello Basics and 4-Way In this class, students will explore bargello patterns and the process for developing designs in both straight line bargello stitching and 4-way bargello canvases. The class project can be finished into ornaments, coasters or framed pieces. We will also cover shading of colors, laying fibers and the history of bargello needlepoint. Class Dates 2025:

Kelly Clark - Jacobean Peacock (Stumpwork, Goldwork) Class Duration - 4-Day Class This piece is painted to honor the traditional Jacobean style which is generally stitched in Crewel with all wool threads. Students will be taught to stitch this piece using many crewelwork stitches and techniques while using silk and metallic threads. In addition, stitching techniques such as Japanese Goldwork, Stumpwork and Ribbonwork will be introduced during the class. The piece is adorned with beads, pearls, sequins and crystals. Ribbon Basics This ribbon class is a notebook class where you will learn ribbon techniques that can be used to embellish any canvas you’re working on. Beading Basics You will learn the basics of beading including how to sew on individual, lines, and groups of beads, how to lasso bead, basketweave beading, and brick stitch beading. Class Dates 2025:

Stand Up Finishing In this class you will learn to finish a rounded top, soft stuffed, stand up with a flat base. You will need to bring a small stitched stand up figure and backing fabric. All other supplies will be provided. There is a small amount of machine sewing but we have the sewing machine and we will help you through that part.
